The synthetic dream foundation -- "Behind the gates of horn and ivory" [24 Apr 2008|06:08pm]

The synthetic dream foundation has a new album, entitled "Behind the gates of horn and ivory" coming out at the end of this month. The sound clips on their site sound phenomenal. Anyone else had a chance to listen to the sample mp3s yet? I think this is going to be the best TSDF album yet.

apartment search [05 Sep 2006|12:33pm]

[ mood | stressed ]

hello, all!

over the summer, i lived in honoka'a and got to enjoy a lot of great things in hilo. right now, i'm back at home on the mainland, but, come january, i'm transferring to the university of hawaii at hilo to finish my bachelor's degree.

i'm desperately looking for an apartment in hilo (preferably near campus, but i'll take what i can get). i've got a few listings through the university, but i'm very interested in checking out all the options.

i've tried searching on line through sites like rent.com, but there are very few listings for the island and none for hilo.

so, if you could point me toward any sort of resources--phone numbers, web sites, friends, whatever--i would greatly appreciate it. i'm really looking forward to moving to hilo. perhaps, then, i'll get to thank some of you in person for your help with this.

thanks so much!

Anyone ever post in here anymore? [04 Aug 2006|01:28am]

[ mood | bored ]

All I ever see here are flagrant spamvertisements for bad industrial clubs. Discussion, anyone? Here's one: I really can't take 5 more years of life on the Big Island. I've already endured 21. I'll have a nervous breakdown, srsly. If you have any kind of personality and don't have "Promiscuous Girl" by Nelly Furtado as your cell phone ringtone, don't move here. Just a forewarning.

The synthetic dream foundation has a brand new track available for free download from their site, called "locust swarm". Fans of the dancier stuff from their latest cd "tendrils of pretty" will fall as deeply in love with this track as with the others. You can get the track for free from

The synthetic dream foundation - Tendrils of pretty !! [30 Dec 2005|08:48pm]

The synthetic dream foundation

has just released their new album, on mythical records. Its a beautiful fusion of dark classical music, ebm, psytrance, and dark ambient music. It features guest vocals by Summer Bowman (The machine in the garden), Hannah Fury, Aaminah kerdelen, Tamara Kent, and Samantha Bouqin. I highly recommend this album to everyone. Its one of the best releases, by far, for this scene in years. Stunning production levels, creative sound design, and masterful orchestration of song writing. This is a soon to be classic. THE RETURN OF LEATHERSTRIP!!!! [15 Sep 2005|01:30pm]

I just finished with a conversation with Brett, from The synthetic dream foundation and he mentioned to me he is releasing a track on the upcoming "Cyberlab" compilation by Alfa-Matrix. When I asked who else is on the comp, I was blown away when Brett mentioned Leatherstrip is putting a new track on the comp and will proceed to release a full new album sometime soon as well. I couldn't believe it, so went to the Alfa-Matrix website and sure enough, its true. I just pre-ordered my copy of the comp. As well as having tons of exclusive material by all the top names including Tactical Sekt, VNV nation, The synthetic dream foundation, Front242, Grendel, etc. I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR NEW LEATHERSTRIP!!!!!!!! One of my alltime faves and its been like atleast 5 years since he released a new album.
